Abstract

Carcass composition in sixty half carcasses of Large White Yorkshire barrows in the slaughter weight ranging 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81-90 and 91-100 kg were studied. Carcasses from 71-80 kg slaughter weight had the optimum bone, lean and fat content. The per cent fat increased rapidly and per cent lean revealed a decreasing trend beyond 80 kg slaughter weight in Large White Yorkshire barrows.
