Abstract
Seroprevalence of egg drop syndrome virus in some of the domesticated and free flying birds in Kerala was studied by haemagglutination inhibition test. Out of 268 duck sera screened, 128 (47.8%) had HI titers ranging from 10 to 640. Cross—breds had the highest percentage of reactors followed by desi, Khaki Campbell and White Pekins. Only 9 out of 219 (4.1 %) chicken sera showed antibodies to this virus. All the 125 Japanese quails and five love birds examined were negative. Both the pigeons and 2 out of 5 crows screened were positive.
