Abstract

Chicks were vaccinated with herpes virus of turkey at different time points along with 18 day old embryo to determine the optimum point of vaccination. The antibody level was monitored by serum neutralization test and the cell mediated response by leukocyte migration inhibition test. in the study it was noted that 18 day embryo vaccination was good but owing to practical constraints, 'O' day vaccination was found to be a practical and safe method of vaccination of chicks against Marek's disease.
