Abstract

During the period 1994-95 a total of 230 samples including 140 pooled serum and 90 bursae were collected from poultry flocks suspected to have been suffering from infectious bursal disease. Out of the 230 samples, 74 (32%) were positive for IBD by agar gel diffusion test. 28 (39%) out of 74 samples were from apparently healthy birds indicating subclinical infection. The district-wise distribution of positive cases were 43%, 30%, 28% and 26%. in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and other districts respectively
